Mr. Sukhbir Singh is Ex Chairman and Member of Railway Board, Ex-Officio Secretary to Govt. of India. He has outstanding educational background B.E. (Hons.) Roorkee University, MBA from Stern Business School, New York, USA and Manchester University, UK.
Mr. Singh has 36 years of versatile experience on Indian Railway governing all aspects i.e. Project Management, Technical & operational areas, HRD, R&D, Economic and Social activities, Urban transport including Metro Rail System, power generation transmission distribution, non-conventional energies, New Ventures etc.,
He has dynamic result oriented approach, widely travelled , capable of producing long lasting & quality result in shortest possible time, most cost effective way and has very decorated career, few specific features are;
⦁ Made pioneer efforts to bring seven new traction technologies- successfully indigenized and implemented over past 20 years.
⦁ Achieved distinction of completing critical projects in all sectors of Railways much ahead of target almost less than ½ of the average time on Indian Railways.

He has largely served in critical areas of industrialization, technology transfers & employment generation such as setting up of Process & Product Development Centres (PPDCs) under UNDP Programme in U.P Govt. (www.updi.in), Technologist in UNIDO / UNDP project for the setting up of Centre For The Development of Glass Industry, Firozabad in Ministry of MSME, Govt of India (www.cdgiindia.net),
Director- Special Projects in Export Promotion Council For Handicrafts (EPCH) (www.epch.in) for setting up of Common Facility Centres & technologies
for SMEs, Export Promotion, Setting up of India Expo Centre & Mart (www.indiaexpomart.com) etc., Vice President in IL&FS Infrastructure

Mr. Srivastava recently completed his 10 years tenure as Executive Director Cum Secretary of National Design Centre (NDC) (www.nationaldesigncentre.org) an Autonomous organization under Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. NDC is self - sustainable organization, specializes in areas of design & product innovation, Skill /Capacity Development, Technology, improved tooling, employment generation and large Cluster Infrastructure Development projects.
Mr. Srivastava is also on the Board of some prestigious organizations and member of important Committees.
Mr. Srivastava has unmatched experience of working across the sectors over a period of more than 38 years especially Govt. of India pertaining to rules, regulations, procedures, setting up of entities including FDI, investments, Labour Laws, Land Allotment and other critical areas such as execution of projects etc. Inter-Ministerial coordination and seamless execution of projects is one of the areas of specialization.
